The trek takes you to the 13th-century Byzantine Castle of Gardiki, an imposing fortress nearby the traditional village Agios Matheos. The beach of Agios Matheos lies within a few km from the village and it is a very popular summer destination. Not far from the village, you can explore the quiet beach of Halikounas, which is considered one of the island's most beautiful beaches. Kardaki - Mon Repos is an amazing place to visit throughout the year. You can either enjoy a cool walk under the shade of trees in the beautiful park or visit the surrounding isolated beaches. The wooded park is designated as an area of archaeological importance; there are several ongoing excavations with great monuments of the Ionian past waiting to be discovered. On the way from Ano Korakiana to Sokraki, you will find the small church of Agios Isidoros. Follow the trail road and after approximately 3 km you will reach the lake of Spartilas, called Limni. The lake dries up during the summer season. The village of Spartilas is located within 1 km distance. From this point, there is an about 1.5 km path that takes you to the Taxiarchis church, one of the oldest monuments in the area. The trail path is quite challenging as it is steep, so it is essential to come properly equipped with a good pair of shoes. After a 4 km hike, you will reach the summit of Mount Pantokrator, featuring amazing views of the island and beyond.
