Located about 14 km north of the Corfu town. The town lies at the east coast of the island and the main road stretches for 3.5 km along the beach. The bus service from Corfu town is frequent, especially during the summer season. The blue bus service connects Ipsos with Corfu town, although this is the last stop and if you want to get further north you will need to catch another service. Along the main coastal road, there is a range of bars/clubs ( Montechristo, Passoa ), tavernas, restaurants, shops and clubs which can meet every expectation. The area is well known among young visitors, although this does not exclude families or older age groups. The town has a convenient beach which extends along the coast. It might not be ideal for beach sports because the beach is covered with small pebbles but you will find several companies offering water sports. There is a small marina as soon as you enter the town from the south where you can buy fresh fish. Mount Pantokrator extends up to the north edge of the town. This area has many hills from where you can enjoy spectacular views towards the island and the sea. The name of the town itself means 'height' but the area is very flat which makes it ideal for activities like running, cycling or walking.
