Old Perithia Village
One of the oldest examples of a mountain village in Corfu is Old Perithia, a historic village designated for its cultural and natural beauty, immediately below Mount Pantokrator on the north-east corner of the island. The oldest written evidence for the island dates back to the mid-14th century, but there are indications for even earlier occupation as well. There were about 130 houses traditionally built and today some of them are almost completely in ruins and a number of them under restoration programs. Parking is limited so you can even drive through the village to see it or walk. There are a few restaurants and cafes at the village for the visitors.
